'No Kings' protests planned in El Cerrito, El Sobrante and Hercules

“No Kings—Let’s Kick Out the Clowns” protests are planned Saturday, June 14 in El CerritoEl Sobrante and Hercules, however El Cerrito is currently listed “at max capacity” by the organizers.

The El Sobrante protest currently has space for attendees and is set for 1-3 p.m. at the corner of San Pablo Dam Road and Appian Way, while the Hercules protest also has room for sign-ups and is slated for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the four corners of San Pablo and Sycamore, 4000 San Pablo Ave.

Indivisible West CoCo County (IWCCC) stated it is organizing the events “as part of a national day of action and mass mobilization in response to increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption from Trump and his allies.”

Coinciding with the nationwide “No Kings” protests is President Donald Trump’s military parade in Washington, D.C. Saturday, which aims to celebrate Flag Day, the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army and his own 79th birthday. Saturday’s events come in the wake of protests and rioting in Los Angeles in response to President Trump’s immigration policies. President Trump responded by deploying the National Guard, and later the Marines.
