The City of Richmond invites the community to join in celebrating the first anniversary of the Marina Bay Farmers Market on Sunday, May 25, at 10 a.m. at Marina Bay Park.
This event will feature live music, spoken word, dance performances, games, and movement classes, Richmond City Manager Shasa Curl said at Tuesday’s Council meeting. Shoppers can explore a wide selection of fresh fruits, seasonal produce, baked goods, breads, and prepared foods from local vendors.
“Whether you’re looking to stock up on groceries, enjoy family-friendly entertainment, or connect with neighbors, the Marina Bay Farmers Market has something special for everyone,” the city manager said.
The market is located in the parking lot off Regatta Boulevard in Melville Square. Over the past year, the market “has become a vibrant community hub, welcoming 500-plus residents weekly and supporting 50-plus local vendors,” according to the city.
Its normal hours of operation is Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is operated by Richmond Farmers Markets, which also operates the Civic Center market on Fridays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
