Rosie the Riveter Trust, the nonprofit arm of the Rosie the Riveter WWII Home Front National Historical Park, is ushering in the return of the famed “Rosie Rally” coupled with a “25th Anniversary Festival” Saturday, June 7 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the park’s home at 1414 Harbour Way South in Richmond.

The Rosie Rally’s reappearance following a seven-year hiatus was spurred by the national park’s 25th anniversary celebration this year, for which it has numerous activities planned. This year’s rally will not aim to break the Guiness World record for attendees dressed as the iconic Rosie, however, it will include a celebratory festival.

On hand for the free family-friendly event will be era-appropriate music and dancing, fab food, costume contests and more. “Show your ‘We Can Do It’ spirit by coming dressed as a Rosie or in your best 1940s garb,” said organizers. For those needing a little tutelage on how to dress like Rosie, the national park provides an easy-peasy guide. Red-and-white dotted bandanas can be bought at the park’s Visitor Center.

Alongside music provided by Silver Bells Jazz Band and Tosca, revelers will enjoy local food trucks, Rosie the Riveter costume contests, kids activities, community tables and demos, Victory Garden info/activities and the chance to meet real life Rosies and national park rangers.

The national park is located on the Bay Trail, so those riding their bikes can take advantage of the bike valet service provided by Bike East Bay.
