Spring is in the air and that means the Richmond Art Center’s (RAC) “Spring Family Day” is budding on the horizon. The annual event is set for Saturday, May 17 from noon to 3 p.m. Admission is free.
“This free event features all-ages drop-in art activities that celebrate creativity, curiosity and making art side by side,” stated the RAC on its website.
Art making activities that day will include screen-printing posters with an original design by Julia LaChica, creating handmade zines with artist Shani Ealey, making native seed bombs to take home and other options, according to the RAC.
Participants can also dip inside the RAC for a fun search-and-find activity surrounding John Wehrle’s retrospective exhibition, with prizes included.
Also up for viewing will be the WCCUSD Student Art Show, spotlighting works by young artists from West County middle and high schools.
Kids of all ages are invited to enjoy the event, and RSVPs are not required. The RAC is located at 2540 Barrett Ave. in Richmond. Learn more here.
