East Brother Beer Co. is known for its award-winning beer, but its upcoming “Pride + Purpose Day” on Friday, April 18 will also see the craft brewery supporting higher education for Richmond students.

Organizers said that from 3-9 p.m., they’re “opening our doors and our hearts for our Second Annual Pride + Purpose Day—an afternoon of good beer, great food and giving back to the community we call home.”

During the event, East Brother will attribute 10 percent of all taproom sales to Richmond Promise, a local nonprofit ensuring that Richmond students have a pathway to higher education through scholarships and other support. The nonprofit’s team will be on site from 5-6 p.m. to share the 411 about their lifechanging work, which started with seed money from a Chevron investment.

Also on site will be Mr. Dim Sum with menu selections to enjoy between sips of beer, including East Brother’s new release, its Mexican Lager.

“That’s not just a donation—it’s an investment in the next generation of leaders, dreamers and changemakers,” said East Brother about the event.
