Richmond firefighters helped a young puppy named Maverick out of a serious bind on Tuesday. A citizen brought Maverick into Richmond Fire Station 66 on Clinton Avenue because the puppy had its head stuck in the rim of a small tire, according to Richmond Firefighters Local 188, which shared video footage of the incident.
Firefighters safely freed the dog by taking off the rubber tire and carefully cutting away the metal rim.
“Happy as can be, and without a scratch, Maverick was sent home with his relieved owner,” fire officials said.
