Richmond seniors will be on the “Go-Go” due to the “3rd Annual Senior Transportation Workshop” scheduled for Wednesday, April 2 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Richmond Senior Center.

The City of Richmond Commission on Aging (RCOA) is collaborating with the Richmond Transportation Department (R-Transit) on the workshop. Under the theme “Richmond Seniors on the Go-Go,” it looks to “empower older adults and seniors living in Richmond and West County with the knowledge and tools to access various transportation services,” according to the organizers.

Attendees will get the brass-tacks from R-Transit and Clipper Card staff about how to sign-up and use services such as RAPID R-Transit (Uber/Lyft door-to-door services); Richmond Moves (on-demand in-town services); BART/Clipper Card (mass transit services); and Seamless Bay Area (transit network service).

“This workshop is a fantastic opportunity for our seniors to gain confidence and independence in their transportation options,” said Bryan Harris, RCOA Transportation Chair. “We are committed to making transportation accessible and seamless for all Richmond residents.”

For more information about the workshop or to register, please call 510-307-8087. The Richmond Senior Center is located at 2525 Macdonald Ave. in Richmond.
