A “Winter Wonderland” will descend upon McGlothen Temple Church of God in Christ Saturday, Dec. 21 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. in Richmond. Admission to the event is free.

The church, which has been in the Richmond community for almost a century, is hosting the community for an evening of fun activities, toys and clothing giveaways and more while supplies last. Church Pastor Willie C. Haynes III said that the event is its opportunity to open its doors and hearts to the community to share God’s love with our neighbors.

He added that the season is about coming together and embodying the true spirit of Christmas. “At McGlothen Temple, we believe in sharing God’s blessings with others, and this event is one way we can demonstrate our care and compassion to the Richmond community.”

As part of the Church of God in Christ, McGlothen Temple bears the distinction of being among the oldest Pentecostal denominations in the world and the fourth-largest Protestant group in the country.

The church is located at 1443 Fred Jackson Way in Richmond.
