Good Samaritans helped Richmond police quickly identify and arrest a suspect involved in a hit-and-run collision on Friday, Nov. 22.
The victim is in stable condition after being struck by a vehicle while walking in the crosswalk on Barrett Avenue and 19th Street at around 3 p.m. The impact of the collision caused the victim to be “thrown several feet into the middle of the road,” police said.
One Good Samaritan parked their car next to the victim to prevent further injuries from passing cars. Meanwhile, another Good Samaritan took a photo of the driver, who briefly stopped their car, exited to look at the victim, and then drove off, according to police.
“Our vigilant officers quickly responded and located the suspect vehicle in the vicinity of the scene,” police said.
