A home-based Richmond bakery is giving locals a taste of the sweet life, courtesy of a special offer to sample its array of artisanal desserts.
Founded in August of 2022 by Maria Paulina Llaga and Kaizer Pasilaban, Sugar Empire offers homemade cookies, cake sandwiches, brownies, blondies and specialty coffee blends created with high-quality ingredients and artisanal craftsmanship.
Currently, locals can sample Sugar Empire’s artisanal desserts via a special promotion of 10 percent off their first order by using the code RICHMOND at checkout on the bakery’s website. According to the owners, it’s their way of saying thanks to the community for their support and welcoming them with open arms.
Each product at the bakery is crafted from original recipes and inventive flavors, with the aim of pleasing every palate. “Our goal is to create desserts that not only taste amazing but also tell a story,” said Sugar Empire in a statement. “We’re excited to continue sharing our passion for baking with the Richmond community and can’t wait for everyone to try our delicious creations.” The bakery is available for private events.
A signature cookie offered by the bakery is the Emperor’s Cookie, made with chocolate chips, toffee, coffee—and topped off with a luscious layer of 24K edible gold, according to Sugar Empire.
