Annie’s Annuals & Perennials’ “Fall Planting Festival and CA Natives Extravaganza” on the weekend of Sept. 28-29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. aims to sow the seed on why fall is a great time to plant a spring garden.
The weekend in Richmond will be all about what people should plant in the fall to create a spectacular spring garden, according to Annie’s, and it will happen rain or shine. Also on hand will be free gardening talks/demos, kid’s crafts, face painting, art and food by Ovinloven, Tutuli Coyotas and Elu Café.
Other activities each day will include drawings at 11:15 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. and the return of Annie’s Supermarket Sweep at 2:45 p.m., where the winner will receive 15 minutes of free shopping in Annie’s extensive nursery. Check out the full schedule of events and timing here.
On Saturday, Sept. 28, Annie’s will double down with a “CA Natives Extravaganza Day,” with a percentage of purchases going toward supporting the Bay Area’s 20th annual “Bringing Back the Natives Tour.”
“Planting California natives is one of the best things you can do to help native pollinators and conserve water, all while having a beautiful floriferous garden,” said Annie’s.
Annie’s Annuals & Perennials is an expansive garden nursery located at 740 Market Ave., Richmond.
