The City of Richmond is encouraging community members to join its volunteer effort to clean up the entrance to the Richmond Recreation Complex.

Activities will include cleaning up, weeding, and mulching the area.

The event will run Saturday, Feb. 24, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The center is located at 3230 Macdonald Ave. Lunch, gloves, tools, and other supplies will be provided and restrooms will be available.

Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty as well as closed-toe shoes. Long sleeves are also recommended as there are rose bushes in the area.

“We want to keep our space clean and beautiful for our visitors and community,” city officials said.

To register for the event, go to richmondrec.eventbrite.com.

This event is hosted by the City of Richmond Community Services Department, Recreation Division, Parks & Landscaping Division, Richmond Love Your Block, and Richmond Tool Library.
