Richmond police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy in the Iron Triangle neighborhood.
On Saturday, Aug. 26, at about 11:15 a.m., officers responded to 3rd Street and Nevin Avenue and found the juvenile bleeding from what appeared to be two gunshot wounds to his abdomen, Richmond police Capt. Matt Stonebraker said.
A witness reported seeing the victim and the suspect sitting in a grey car. Both were handling money and appeared to be arguing, when both of them started brandishing firearms at one another, the witness told police.
The victim staggered out of the vehicle and the suspect sped off south down 3rd Street.
The victim was transported to Highland Hospital in Oakland where he was pronounced deceased, Stonebraker said.
The homicide is under investigation and no arrests have been made as of yet, according to police.
