The driver of a vehicle that collided with multiple trees in the center median on Canal Boulevard just south of W. Cutting Boulevard in Richmond on Saturday night suffered moderate injuries, according to Richmond Firefighters Local 188, the union representing city firefighters.
Fire crews responded at about 8 p.m. to the crash scene. The high speed collision caused major damage to the vehicle, trapping the lone occupant, officials stated.
While members of two fire crews worked to remove a door from the vehicle, others provided medical care to the patient, who was transported to an area hospital.
