No one was injured, but a home in the 1400 block of Madeline Road in San Pablo sustained significant damage in a fire early Sunday, according to Richmond Firefighters Local 188, the union that represents Richmond firefighters.
A Richmond fire crew responded just before 3:45 a.m. to the scene to support Con Fire battle a fire at the rear of a large two-story home, fire officials said. The flames were extending to the second floor and back porch area, they added.
Crews ensured all occupants were out, then worked to get the flames under control in about 20 minutes.
The home sustained significant heat and smoke damage throughout. A cause wasn’t immediately known.
