Richmond artist Janet Pathak is debuting “Art by Janet,” a collection of paintings created as a healing response to the pandemic, Sat., June 3 from 2-5 p.m. at the Artisan Cove Community Center in Richmond.

“My intention for this show is to connect with others who may have had similar struggles and experiences, to show that there is healing through art,” said Pathak.

The artist, who has also worked as a nurse by trade, told the Richmond Standard that she struggled to stay balanced and grounded amid the world’s tragic events over the last couple of years during the pandemic. “I found peace and safety in my art,” she said.

“Painting—this wonderful form of creativity—has been so therapeutic for me. It has definitely helped me process anxiety and fear,” said Pathak.

The Artisan Cove Community Center is located at 901 Marina Way South in Richmond. Learn more about Pathak here and on Instagram at @janetbaypathak. Questions? Contact her at [email protected].
