Bike to Work Day is Thursday, which means riders will have access to “energizer stations” throughout the Bay Area, including in West Contra Costa County.

The energizer stations will offer treats, commemorative bags and more to cyclists headed to work, school or wherever. There will be five such stations in Richmond, all running from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. They will be located at the Richmond BART Station, the intersection of Macdonald Ave. and Key Blvd., at Unity Park at S. 16th St. and Ohio Ave., at Marina Park by the bathrooms, and at the Ferry Building at 1453 Harbour Way South.

The 510 Contra Costa website offers a list of energizer station locations. It states that energizer stations will also be located at Contra Costa College (2600 Mission Bell Dr.), at the San Pablo Police Department (13880 San Pablo Ave.), and at The Pedaler at 3826 San Pablo Dam Road. All these events run from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., with The Pedaler offering a second energizer station on the same day from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Energizer stations will also pop up at both BART Stations in El Cerrito from 7-9 p.m.

Rich City Rides is hosting events all month, including Thursday, when the cycling advocacy organization will be at the Unity Park energizer station from 7-9 p.m. Then from noon to 9 p.m., Armistice Brewing at 845 Marina Bay Parkway is hosting a fundriaser for Rich City Rides, donating 100 percent of profits of Rich City Pils and $1 on every other beer.

That’s not all, Rich City Rides is also hosting a night ride across the Richmond-San Rafael  Bridge, with cyclists asked to meet at 6 p.m. at RICH CITY Studio Gallery, 1500 C Macdonald Ave.
