The Yerba Buena Center for the Arts has launched the Creative Corps Initiative, a partnership with the California Arts Council (CAC) to provide $2.85 million in funding to artists in select areas of the San Francisco Bay Area, including Richmond. Applications will be accepted through July 14.
The Creative Corps Initiative aims to support and amplify the work of artists and creative practitioners working on projects that address civic engagement, climate justice, community health and social justice across different Bay Area Communities.Ā
The initiative will prioritize communities that fall below the 25th percentile on the California Healthy Place IndexĀ andĀ creative practitioners from select areas of Antioch, Bay Point, Berkeley, Concord, Fairfield, Hayward, Oakland, Pittsburg, Richmond, San Francisco, San Jose, San Rafael, and Vallejo.Ā
Artists and cultural practitioners, working in partnership with nonprofits in their communities, will receive between $70,000 to $72,000, depending on the volume of applicants.Ā
