Moxion Power Co., manufacturer of zero-emission mobile energy storage products and technologies, is in the process of building a manufacturing facility at the historic Ford Point Building in Richmond, according to the company’s Sept. 28 news release.
Moxion says the Ford Point Building facility and a second facility that hasn’t been identified “will create hundreds of high-paying manufacturing jobs.”
The company has leased 130,000 square feet in the Ford Point Building, which was recently purchased for $103 million by a partnership involving New York-based Madison Capital and Meadow Partners, according to the Bay Area News Group. The historic former assembly factory is now fully occupied with tenants, the media organization states.
Moxion is developing commercial-scale electric portable generators that provide temporary power needs for a wide variety of situations, such as construction sites, disaster relief efforts, film sets and concerts. The company recently secured $100 million in Series B investments that it will use to scale production and to accelerate product development.
