A delicious fundraiser for the Bay Area Girls Club is coming to the Richmond Convention Center at 403 Civic Center Plaza from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16.

“Men Who Cook” will feature dishes cooked by amateur chefs who include local heroes, celebrities and personalities.

They’ll whip up signature dishes that showcase their culinary skills, with the greater aim of raising awareness and funds for the Richmond-based Bay Area Girls Club, which has been providing academic, recreational, and enrichment programs for West Contra Costa girls for nearly five decades.

“We’re currently asking folks to join us, be a chef, sponsor or guest,” according to Yenny Garcia, member of the  Bay Area Girls Club Board of Directors, who spoke about the event at Richmond City Council meeting Tuesday.

Tickets to the event are $25. To purchase tickets, go here. For more information about the Bay Area Girls Club, visit its website here.
