East Brother Beer Co. is revving up its engines for its “5th Annual Summer Classic Car Show,” set for Sun., Aug. 28 from 12-8 p.m. outside the brewery’s taproom at 1001 Canal Blvd in Richmond. According to East Brother’s Rob Lightner, the afternoon event will be “an all-American celebration of classic cars, the people that love them, and of course, East Brother’s award-winning beers.”
This year’s incarnation of the annual event will showcase a variety of wheels, including hot rods, muscle cars, trucks and possibly even a few bikes, per Lightner. “Visitors will get a chance to vote for two of their favorites for the “best of show” award,” he said. The top two cars will be awarded with East Brother’s Gold Growler Trophy.
The afternoon festivities will feature more than the impressive rides, with ample opportunities to “refuel” at onsite food trucks La Santa Torta (mmm, birria tacos!) and Ceviche & Co. (Ecuadorian bites). And of course, East Brother will have more than ten beers on hand to enjoy with the good eats.
Live music will also be on tap that day from 1-6 p.m. “with a special performance from Richmond’s very own YSIO Social Club,” according to Lightner.
Entrance to the Summer Classic Car Show at East Brother is free; children and “well-mannered pets” are also welcomed. Registration for those wanting to showcase their car is also free and the form can be filled out here by Aug. 25. Lightner said a limited number of drive-up vehicles will be permitted the day of the event on a first-come, first-served basis.
East Brother is located at 1001 Canal Blvd. in Richmond. For more info on the event, click here or call (510) 230-4081.
