Richmond’s East Brother Beer Co. and Rich City Studios are coming together for a hybrid online/in-person event during which “multiple up and coming artists from the Bay Area showcase their talents,” per the organizers.

Set for Tues., July 19 from 5-10 p.m., “The Rich City Open Mic & Showcase Series #1” will be held both on Zoom and live at East Brother Beer Co., 1001 Canal Blvd. in Richmond. With the open mic kicking off at 6:30 p.m. and the showcase at 8 p.m., artists ages 16 and over will perform in a variety of musical genres. The day following the showcase, a video of the open mic participants will be posted to Rich City Studios’ YouTube page, where community members can vote for their favorite artist using a link in the description, per the event organizers.

The “top four artists will be invited back for a future showcase slot,” the organizers added. Food, local vendors and beer will also be on tap for the evening of music.

“We’re keeping the cost of virtual admission low in hopes that you will donate to the artists via Venmo, PayPal or Cashapp to help support their dreams and careers and we also hope that you will discover your new favorite artists,” said organizers.

Zoom tickets range from $0-$3; more details about online viewing can be found here. Admission to the Open Mic & Showcase in-person at East Brother Beer Co. is free.
