UPDATE: She has been found safe, according to the RPD.

Richmond police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 12-year-old girl.

Kah’lea McElveen was last seen at approximately 2:30 p.m. this afternoon, after attending all of her scheduled classes at DeJean Middle School, police said.

“When her mother went to pick her up from school, Kah’lea was nowhere to be found,” police said. “Kah’lea’s friends have been contacted, but her whereabouts are still unknown.”

Kah’lea stands 5-4 tall and weighs 140 pounds, and was last seen wearing a white and tan colored jacket, ripped blue jeans, multi-colored Air Max shoes, and was carrying a black Adidas backpack, according to police. Her hair is no longer braided (as pictured in attached photos), and was last seen tied up in a bun, police said.

If you see anyone closely matching Kah’lea’s description, or know of her whereabouts, please contact 911 (emergency) or the RPD Communications Center immediately at 510-233-1214.
