The COVID-19 pandemic may have canceled the Sante Fe Neighborhood Council’s Hug-a-Bear Holiday Dinner, but it could not stop the annual fundraiser from providing comfort to local kids suffering from trauma.
Every year, the neighborhood council collects huggable stuffed bears to distribute to Richmond’s first responders for use in comforting children experiencing crises.
This year, the council managed to collect over 100 bears for kids in the community.
“Thank you, Santa Fe for your commitment to public safety,” the Richmond Police Department announced on Facebook Tuesday.
