A GoFundMe has been launched to benefit the family of Hubert Taylor III, a 40-year-old Richmond father of four who was found fatally stabbed in San Pablo Tues., Dec. 14.

The fundraiser, set up by his loving ex-wife and mother of his children, Tara White, seeks to raise $10,000 to fund funeral expenses and to support his kids ages 20, 17, 13 and 4. As of this writing, donations have reached $1,705.

Taylor was found dead in a vacant lot in the vicinity of Fillmore Street with multiple stab wounds in his upper torso. San Pablo police believe he had been fatally stabbed the previous day during a fight over personal property. Don Lee King, 35, of Richmond, was arrested for the homicide.

According to White, who was married to Taylor for 20 years, his children are “absolutely devastated by this tragedy” and “could use all the help [they] can get, even if it is just prayers.”

Laura Roach remembered Taylor in the GoFundMe page comments as an active parent volunteer at Sheldon Elementary who pitched in whenever needed, even washing sports uniforms at home.

Roach said her school colleagues were jealous she had such a great parent volunteer and that she was “proud [and] thankful for him.” She added, “Friends, your money will definitely be put to a good cause if you donate to this family.”
