The Youth Services Bureau’s (YSB) 38th Annual Christmas giveaway today served about 145 pre-registered families in a drive-thru event in the parking lot of the YSB headquarters at 84 Broadway in Richmond.

Parents and children picked up bags of toys and bags of food for the holidays.

“We have been a part of this community since 1984. Most of us who work here were born and raised in Richmond,” YSB Executive Director Onna Alexander said. “We are here to help our families and their children in our community to meet the challenges of daily life. The YSB enjoys participating with the community during the holiday season…the smiles of the parents and kids makes it all worthwhile.”

The YSB provides comprehensive wraparound services to in-need youth and families in Contra Costa County. The organization partners with the Children & Family Services, as well as dozens of other organizations, to provide direct services to children and families.

VESTIA Inc. and other community partners’ financial donations helped with CCYSB in spreading holiday cheer with toys, gift cards and food, with those that registered for the “Christmas Grab & Go” on Monday, Dec. 20.
