A Richmond cannabis dispensary’s first holiday toy drive for children in need got off to a great start after an anonymous donor contributed 165 Beanie Babies on the first day of the toy drive.Ā
Members of the community are being encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to 7 Stars Holistic Healing Center, located at 3219 Pierce St., from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week. Those who donate get a raffle ticket to possibly win a stocking full of goodies. Toy collection will continue through Dec. 22.
The total value of the donated Beanie Babies is unknown. Officials at 7 Stars say they’re reaching out to the community in hopes that a collector will provide an estimated valuation. The business also wants to publicly thank the anonymous donor for their generosity.
āWe were surprised and delighted to see so many donations on the first day of the drive,āĀ says Zee Handoush, 7 Stars executive director. āThe Richmond community is so giving, and weāre trying to be a part of that by organizing this toy drive.ā
