Moving Forward, Rich City Rides and the Richmond Firefighters Local 188 are inviting residents to join a community hike at Alvarado Park on Saturday.
The free community hike hosted by Moving Forward, an organization working to enhance community service, health and education in the community, will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at 5755 McBryde Ave. in Richmond.
“We will have coffee and a fun surprise waiting for you,” Moving Forward stated on Instagram.
A moderate-level hike will cover about 4 miles roundtrip. Attendees are asked to wear a mask when social distancing is not possible. Children and pets are welcome. A parking lot is available at the park entrance.
“This community event is designed to get residents out and about as we explore all the hidden gems, spectacular views and nature that we are surrounded by everyday in our own backyard,” Moving Forward states. “No experience or special hiking equipment necessary.”
