A mighty band of 28 community volunteers came out on Saturday to help spruce up the Richmond Recreation Complex.
They removed 28 bags of litter and weeds, and also pruned rose bushes, installed weed fabric and spread a truckload of mulch, according to Richmond Love Your Block, which hosted the cleanup effort along with the Community Services Department, Parks & Landscaping Division, and Richmond Tool Library. Five city staff members also took part.
“We are grateful to our volunteers and staff who made the event a great success,” according to Richmond Love Your Block, which shared photos from the effort here.
