Contra Costa County said its supply of COVID-19 vaccine is “now plentiful” and so it is offering vaccinations to anyone age 16 and over, whether or not they live in the County.
“The move comes at a new point in the vaccine rollout where supply is exceeding demand,” County officials said. “In the past two weeks, appointments at the County’s vaccine sites have begun to go unfilled.”
Over one millions vaccine doses have been administered in the County. As of Monday, over half of the County’s residents ages 16 and over have been fully vaccinated, and over 70 percent are partially vaccinated, meaning they have yet to receive their second of the two-dose Moderna and Pfizer vaccines.
People can schedule vaccine appointments online or by calling (833) 829-2626. They can also visit one of our walk-in clinics without an appointment. To see the latest local vaccination statistics, visit our online vaccine dashboard.
