A homicide suspect barricaded himself in a Richmond home after police from San Jose served a search warrant there Thursday afternoon, police said.
Police arrived to serve the search warrant in the 2300 block of Wendell Avenue at about 3 p.m., Richmond police Lt. Matthew Stonebraker said. After the man barricaded himself in the home, police set up a perimeter. The suspect surrendered peacefully at 6:45 p.m., Stonebraker said.
The suspect had no weapons and no injuries were reported, Stonebraker added.
Further details weren’t immediately available.
Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that Richmond police and San Jose police had served the search warrant. The story has been corrected to state that only San Jose police had served the search warrant. Richmond police assisted by setting up a perimeter.
