Want to weigh in on how to make Richmond’s Dirt World a better park? The City of Richmond and Friends of Dirt World are hosting a “Dirt World Bike Park Design Workshop” to gather ideas for improving the 2.1-acre public bicycle skills park.
The workshop is set for Sunday, Nov. 1 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Dirt World Bike Park, located on the Richmond Greenway between South 20th St. and 23rd St.
“Bring a buddy, a bike and your big ideas to share,” stated organizers on the event flyer.
Construction of the bike park, unveiled in July 2018, has been made possible with funding and support credited to the Chevron Environmental Community Investment Agreement, Overaa Construction, Ida and William Rosenthal Foundation, Action Sports Construction, Chris Brawer, Title Nine, Ghilotti Brothers Inc., Richmond Rotary, Ice Chamber Athletic Performance Training, Dante Buckley, Bicycle Trails Council of the East Bay, Love Your Block Richmond, City of Richmond and volunteers and individual donors.
The workshop is a socially distanced outdoor event, so organizers are requiring participants to follow COVID-19 health guidelines by wearing masks and social distancing. Read a previous report on Dirt World by the Standard here. Check out a video of riders enjoying the park here.
