Vegetation fire burns 4.5 acres near Parchester Village

A vegetation fire burned about 4.5 acres near the Parchester Village neighborhood and Point Pinole Regional Shoreline Sunday night, according to fire officials.

Thirty-six firefighters from three local fire agencies responded to the fire at about 5:30 p.m., Richmond Fire Battalion Chief Noah Brownlow said.

The fire was fully contain in about four hours, Brownlow said. No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.

Amtrak was delayed as a result of the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
