The Richmond Public Library will host a drive-thru National Voter Registration Day event on Tuesday, Sept. 22.
The event, hosted by the library and local young adults and teens, will run from noon to 3 p.m. in the parking lot facility at 25th Street and Barrett Avenue, organizers said.
On National Voter Registration Day, local organizations really push to register many undecided, unregistered, or new voters regardless of political ideology and preference.
“Residents of Contra Costa and Alameda Counties that are U.S. citizens, and have a mailing address (no post office boxes) are targeted in this secure event,” library officials said. “Citizens that don’t have a permanent address but have an address where mail is received are also encouraged to register. Registrations are secured by submitting them directly to the county elections office and not through the US postal service.”
