The Richmond Main Street Initiative (RMSI) is taking online shopping to the next level in support of downtown businesses.
At 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, the Downtown Richmond Virtual Merchants Showcase will provide a virtual opportunity to meet downtown merchants, get a behind-the-scenes look at their businesses and offerings, play trivia for prizes and receive exclusive promotional deals.
Businesses featured in Saturday’s event include Gratitude Afrocentric Gift Shop, The Rich Clothing Co, Rich City Rides Bike & Skate Shop, and San Francisco Pizza & Restaurant. Each has interesting deals, details and prizes to present.
Attendees of the virtual showcase will learn how to prepare a Fettucine Alfredo with San Francisco Pizza & Restaurant and have a chance to win a large 16″ House Combo or a dinner for two (includes one Fettucine Alfredo, one large Caeser salad and garlic bread).
Meanwhile, Rich City Rides will exhibit an e-bike, and The Rich Clothing Co. will talk about its new brand of masks and offer up a few for lucky winners. Attendees will also learn about Dashiki, shea butter and black soap with Gratitude Afrocentric Gift Shop.

“Half of the proceeds from this event will be given directly to the highlighted small businesses to support them during shelter-in-place,” according to RMSI.
