Man killed, another injured in Richmond shooting; suspect in custody

Richmond police are investigating a shooting on that killed a man and injured a second victim on Tuesday.

At 8:05 a.m., officers responded to the 900 block of 9th Street and found two gunshot victims, according to Richmond police Sgt. Aaron Pomeroy.

One of the victims, identified as 32-year-old Jose Antonio Salazar, died at the scene. The other victim was transported to a local trauma center.

A suspect is in custody in connection with the homicide, the city’s eighth in 2020. The suspect’s identity was not immediately known.


  1. I saw the police officers doing CPR on the victim, unfortunately he did not make it. Then some lady began accusing the police of killing that guy.

    I would hat to be a cop in Richmond.
