The Richmond Chamber of Commerce (RCOC) launched a video series on its YouTube channel last month that spotlights Black-owned businesses throughout the city.
The initiative has taken flight as businesses in Richmond are facing economic turmoil stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic and also amid calls for justice as part of the Black Lives Matter movement and the recent celebration of Juneteenth.
“We will be highlighting a few of our Black businesses that are a part of our chamber,” said Tiffany Harris, chair of the RCOC. “We hope you enjoy the videos and support local Richmond businesses.”
To date, the chamber has posted videos of Richmond businesses including CJ’s BBQ & Fish; the Multicultural Children’s Bookstore; and Fisher Realtors.
According to Richmond Chamber President James Lee, more video spotlights are to come. So stay tuned to their channel. To help spread the word, the Standard will publish them as well.
