The West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD) is continuing to serve free breakfast, lunch and dinner meals to-go for kids 18 years and younger at numerous locations throughout the summer.
The district’s Summer Meal Program meals can be picked up curbside at the locations Monday through Thursday from 10:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. unless otherwise indicated. According to the WCCUSD, Friday meals will be served in advance during the Thursday pickup.
According to Luis Mazariegos, a communications tech specialist in the WCCUSD’s Food Service Dept., children do not have to be present for parents to receive the meals. He also said that the district’s current plans are to distribute meals through Aug. 14, however, he said that the date could change to extend the program.
“Following the social distancing protocols, for your safety please wear a face mask and have your trunk open to place the meals inside,” said Mazariegos.
