These East Richmond residents aren’t going to let the COVID-19 pandemic dampen their spirits.
At Clinton and Ralston avenues on Friday evening, neighbors gathered to hold a social distancing party in the street, where they took part in a “quarantine disco.” They joyfully danced to Stayin’ Alive by the Bee Gees, while stayin’ 6 feet apart.
One of those neighbors, Dee Claytor, posted a video about the dance party, which wasn’t a one-off. Neighbors plan to meet up every Friday at 5 p.m.
Organizers of the fun meetup are Molly Wahl, Niel Moonsamy and Patricia Derler, said Claytor, who has lived in the neighborhood for over 40 years.
“This has always been an amazing neighborhood,” she said.
