The Fresh Approach Mobile Farmers’ Market has suspended its downtown and North Richmond stops at this time, but has continued its service at the Richmond Civic Center. The decision comes on the heels of the stay-at-home order issued earlier this week for six Bay Area counties in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

“As part of a national effort to control the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), Fresh Approach will be canceling and/or significantly limiting our programs until further notice in order to keep Bay Area communities safe,” Fresh Approach Executive Director Laura deTar said in a statement.

As of Tuesday, March 17, the Mobile Farmer’s Market will continue its service at these Richmond and San Pablo locations:

  • Richmond: The Mobile Farmers Market will have one stop from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays at the Richmond Civic Center Plaza, at Nevin Ave & Civic Center Plaza (in front of the public library), in Richmond.
  • San Pablo:  The Mobile Farmers Market will also have one stop in San Pablo on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at San Pablo City Hall, 13831 San Pablo Ave. in San Pablo.

“Farmers’ markets are a critical community food resource that operate in an open-air environment to feed the public, and we will continue to operate our Mobile Farmers’ Market routes on a modified schedule as long as we are able,” stated deTar.

“As this public health event continues to evolve, we expect that our schedule will continue to change. Know that we will be doing everything possible to keep the Mobile Farmers’ Market a safe place for shoppers and staff, while providing food to the public,” deTar added.

Fresh Approach advises the community to continue checking back on its website for further updates. For more info, contact 925-771-2990.
