A 16-year-old was in serious but stable condition at a trauma center following a shooting in the parking lot of a Richmond gas station at 38th Street and Cutting Boulevard on Monday night, police said.
Richmond police responded to a Shotspotter activation report in the 300 block of 38th Street at 7:31 p.m. While en route, officers were told by the Richmond Police Department Communications Center that a person was lying in the 400 block of 38th Street, according to Richmond police Sgt. Aaron Pomeroy.
Officers located the teen victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on the sidewalk, adjacent to the Valero gas station at 3701 Cutting Blvd., Pomeroy said. Richmond Fire Department and AMR paramedics provided medical attention and the victim was transported to a local trauma center in serious but stable condition, he said.
The crime scene was located in the parking lot of Valero gas station. No arrests or suspect descriptions have been announced. Richmond police are investigating. Anyone with information related to this shooting can contact Det. Aaron Mandell at (510) 621-1259.
