If you’re looking to get your crab on before the Bay Area’s Dungeness crab season ends April 1, look no further than The Artisan Kitchen & Café’s Fresh Crab Sandwich.
Liane Ingham, founder of the café and its adjacent cooperative kitchen in Richmond’s Marina Bay neighborhood, said that their crab sandwich is incredibly popular with customers and they “sell out of it almost every single day.”
The Artisan Kitchen & Café’s crab sandwich is made with Ingham’s trademark artisanal touch, consisting of fresh crab, mixed spring greens, light chipotle mayo, tomato and homemade balsamic onions on a warm brioche bun.
“It’s one of our best-selling sandwiches,” said Ingham, who added that she will be offering the crab sandwich on the café’s menu past crab season due to its popularity.
The sandwich is such a local fave the café recently sent out an email blast to its customers proclaiming it as the “Best Crab Sandwich in the East Bay.” Stop by the café and decide for yourself.
The Artisan Kitchen & Café is located at 865 Marina Bay Parkway, #33, Richmond. Aside from its Fresh Crab Sandwich, the café offers a wide variety of locally sourced gourmet sandwiches, salads and other delights served in a charming atmosphere reminiscent of a European sidewalk café. Spacious indoor and outdoor seating is available.
Hours of operation are Mon.-Fri. from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; the café is currently closed on weekends, but that might change soon. Call 510-235-2323 or click here for more info.
