The Richmond Police Department announced it will hold a DUI checkpoint on Richmond Parkway near West Ohio Avenue during the evening hours on Friday, Feb. 28.
The Richmond PD Traffic Unit is holding the checkpoint in conjunction with the Office of Traffic Safety.
“The goal of the checkpoint is to educate motorists about the dangers of impaired driving and to ensure all motorists in the area are driving sober,” police said.
Why does RPD warn about checkpoints? It’s to “comply with state law which indicates we have to publish or announce we will be conducting the checkpoint,” police said.
