A ninja warrior-style fitness facility had a stealth-like opening in Richmond last month.
But this weekend, Traverse Fitnes will make itself known, as the community is invited to a free open house Dec. 7-8 at its new digs at 1 West Barrett Ave (entrance on 570 A St.).
The event invites family and friends to learn ninja skills, take on ninja obstacles and meet and greet with top ninja athletes from the hit TV show American Ninja Warrior. Kids over age 6 through adults are welcome to take part.
“We currently offer ninja warrior style fitness for all ages, as well as classes in aerial acrobatics,” said Caroline Lee, CEO of Traverse Fitness, which also offers open gyms, classes, birthday parties, and corporate events.

Helpful notes for attendees at this weekend’s Open House event: Wear comfortable gym clothing and closed toe shoes. If you want to try the 50′ rope climb, long socks and/or pants are recommended to prevent rope burn. Sneakers with flat rubber soles (vs big treads) help make the spider wall & warp wall easier too. Free chalk is provided, which helps with the hanging obstacles.
