A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot in front of a North Richmond store late Tuesday morning, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office.
At about 11:25 a.m., sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call of a person who was shot in front of the Rancho Market & Deli in the 500 block of Market Avenue. They arrived to find the teenager on the sidewalk suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies and fire officials performed CPR and the teen was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased, the sheriff’s office said.
The investigation is ongoing and the victim has not yet been identified.
