The pedestrian who was killed in a hit-and-run collision on Barrett Avenue in Richmond on Friday has been identified as 50-year-old Gregory Hartwell of Richmond, according to the Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office.
Hartwell was fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing the street at 21st Street about 12:35 a.m. Friday, police said.
Richmond police Lt. Matthew Stonebraker said a truck traveling eastbound struck Hartwell before fleeing the scene.
Police have not yet announced an arrest, nor was a description of the suspect vehicle available.
