Richmond police are investigating a shooting that occurred inside the Shops at Hilltop Monday night that injured one person.
The shooting was reported at 5:48 p.m. A group of males had been arguing outside the Show Palace store before the shots were fired, Richmond police Lt. Matthew Stonebraker said. The group fled after the shooting and a male victim took himself to the hospital, where he was treated for non life threatening injuries.
The shooting prompted a lockdown at the mall. Police then closed the mall for the night to continue the investigation.
As of Tuesday morning, no further information was available about the incident, Stonebraker said.
