Praise dancing, spoken word, music and a panel discussion about the achievement gap facing black students in the local school district are among the activities set for Richmond’s annual Black History Celebration.
The annual celebration, costing $10 per adult ticket, is set to take place this Saturday, Feb. 23, at Richmond Memorial Auditorium (403 Civic Center Plaza) from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., with doors opening for general seating at 12:30 p.m.
Along with entertainment, delicious foods will be served by Main Avent Catering, including cajun shrimp with creamy grits, buttermilk fried chicken and homemade Belgian waffles. Also served will be strawberry lemonade ice tea, lemon water and, for dessert, assorted cupcakes from Delectable Bits & Bites. See the flyer for more information.
