The community is invited to honor some of Richmond’s bravest and finest at the annual City of Richmond Public Safety Awards Dinner on Friday, March 1.
The event, presented annually by the Kiwanis Club of Richmond and sponsored by Chevron Richmond, starts at 6 p.m. at the Richmond Police Activities League, 2200 Macdonald Ave.
Among the 2018 award winners is Police Officer of the Year Brandon Hodges, who earned the same honor in the previous year for his ability to fight crime alongside his canine partner. Firefighter of the Year for 2018 has been awarded to Michael Rodriguez, while Cheryl Cardenas was named Dispatcher of the Year and Mandy Swirsding Police Professional of the Year.
