An illegal marijuana grow house was uncovered in the area of 3rd Street and Macdonald Avenue Wednesday afternoon, leading to a response from the Richmond Fire Hazardous Materials team.
RFD’s Engine 67 responded to the call about the home and discovered it was a grow house. The hazardous materials crew was summoned after potentially hazardous chemicals were found, although thoroughly tested samples proved the liquids were non-hazardous, according to a Facebook post by Richmond Firefighters Local 188.
Richmond police took over the scene and investigation. No further details were immediately available.
